An audio/video system having a PIP(Picture In Picture) function and receiving satellite and terrestrial DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) broadcasting signals and a PIP display method are provided to respectively watch a satellite broadcasting program and a terrestrial DMB broadcasting program by using the PIP function. An audio/video system includes a satellite DMB module(50), a terrestrial DMB module(60), a storage unit(20), a display(40), an image scaler(70), and a controller(10). The storage unit stores EPGs(Electronic Program guides) with respect to satellite and terrestrial DMB programs and a user registered program selected by a user. The display receives a predetermined video signal and displays an image corresponding to the video signal. The image scaler receives digital multimedia video signals from the satellite and terrestrial DMB modules, processes the received signals into a PDP signal, and outputs the PDP signal to the display. The controller checks whether the current time corresponds to a user-registered program broadcasting time while a DMB program is being received through one of the satellite and terrestrial DMB modules, activates the DMB module providing the user-registered program when the current time corresponds to the user-registered program broadcasting time, and controls the image scaler to simultaneously display the program being received and the user-registered program on the display.
