A mobile terminal having a user animation character editing function and its control method are provided to increase the utilization of an image stored in a mobile terminal and to improve the satisfaction of a user. A user image storage unit(12) stores a user image. A fashion item DB(20) stores images of various fashion items for editing the user image. A controller(10) generates a user character by combining a fashion item image of the fashion item DB(20) to the user image stored in the user image storage unit(12) according to a user selection, and displays it on a display unit(5).
