A method for separating uranium isotopes by using a centrifugal separator is provided to improve the separation efficiency of uranium-235 and uranium-238 by adding other gas to uranium hexafluoride gas and injecting the mixed gas into the centrifugal separator. A method for separating uranium isotopes is characterized in that gas centrifugation for uranium enrichment is conducted by adding a gas with a molecular weight(a) of 347<=a<=349 or 352<=a<=354 in addition to uranium hexafluoride containing uranium-235 and uranium hexafluoride containing uranium-238. The added gas has a molecular weight of 349 or 352. The added gas is a compound gas including at least one single isotope selected from beryllium(Be), fluorine(F), sodium(Na), aluminum(Al), phosphorous(P), scandium(Sc), manganese(Mn), cobalt(Co), yttrium(Y), niobium(Nb), rhodium(Rh), iodine(I), Pr, Tb, holmium(Ho), Tm, gold(Au), bismuth(Bi), and thorium(Th).
