FLEXIBLE CORRUGATED MULTILAYER METAL FOIL SHIELDS AND METHODOF MAKING

A flexible corrugated multilayer metal foil or metal sheet structure formed by corrugating a stack (10) of metal foil layers (1) and then compressing portions (26) of metal foil layers to fold the layers into overlapping relationships and to interlock the layers together. The corrugated interlocked multilayer metal foil sturcture is useful for heat an d acoustic shielding in automotive, appliance, construction and other applications. The metal sheet or metal foil layers can contain embossments (7) or other shapes to provide gaps between portions of the layers (1) after corrugating and interlocking.
