A microwave repeater system and a method for setting LOS(Line Of Sight) in the repeater system are provided to correctly set LOS between a donor device and a remote device by using a laser beam, thereby minimizing a loss of signals. A microwave repeater system comprises the followings: a donor device(200) which includes a laser transmission device(300) transmitting a laser beam in a direction and receives a common frequency signal transmitted from a BTS(Base Transceiver Station)(100), and converts the received frequency signal into a microwave frequency signal, then transmits the converted signal by wireless; and a remote device(400) which includes a signal sensing device(500), which senses strength of the laser beam, outputted from the laser transmission device(300), generates an alarm corresponding to the strength, receives the microwave frequency signal, and converts the received signal into the common frequency signal, then provides the converted signal to a mobile station(600).
