<p>#CMT# #/CMT# A method of make-up and/or care of keratinic matter comprising the application of a cosmetic composition comprising at least 75 wt.% of compounds approved as foods, of which at least one is a vegetable oil and the composition itself. #CMT# : #/CMT# - #CMT#USE : #/CMT# The composition is used as a skin or lip care of make-up, especially a lipstick. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The use of food grade constituents provides reassurance to consumers and helps to preserve the integrity of the environment. #CMT#ORGANIC CHEMISTRY : #/CMT# Preferred Amounts: The composition comprises at least 80 wt.%, more preferably 90 wt.% and most preferably 100 wt.% of the compound approved as food. It comprises 0.1-99 wt.%, more preferably 10-65 wt.% and most preferably 20-60 wt.% of food grade vegetable oil. Preferred Vegetable Oil: The oil is an oil comprising a fatty acid: caprylic, capric, lauric, myristic, palmitic, stearic, oleic, ricinoleic, linoleic, linolenic, arachidic, gadoleic, behenic, erucic, brassidic, cetoleic, ligonoceric or nervonic acid or a mixture of them. It is a heptanoic or octanoic triglyceride, peanut, babassu, coconut, grapeseed, cottonseed, maize, maize germ, mustard seed, palm, rape, sesame, soya, sunflower, wheat germ, canola, apricot, mango, castor, karite, avocado, olive, sweet almond, peach stone, nut, hazelnut, macadamia, jojoba, lucerne, poppy, potimarron, marrow, blackcurrant, evening primrose, millet, barley, quinoa, rye, carthame, bancoulier, passion flower, musk rose or karite butter oil or a triglyceride of caprylic/capric acid or a mixture of the above. Preferred Additional Constituents: The composition further comprises a wax, a fatty body paste or a mixture of them. The waxes are carnauba, candellila wax, beeswax, microcrystalline wax, ozokerite or rice wax or a mixture of them. The food grade wax is present at 1-50 wt.%, more preferably at 5-30 wt.% and most preferably at 7-20 wt.% of the composition. The paste body is a polyol ester. The composition comprises an aqueous phase at 0.1-25 more preferably, more preferably at 0.1-20 wt.% and most preferably at 0.1-10 wt.%. The composition comprises a colorant matter which is a compound referred to in the Codex alimentarius or a nacre consisting of materials referred to in the Codex alimentarius or a mixture of the above. Preferred Presentation: The composition is in the form of an emulsion or a stick. The composition is a make-up product and/or a skin and/or lip care product, most preferably a lipstick. #CMT#EXAMPLE : #/CMT# A lipstick composition contained, in wt.%: microcrystalline wax 11.25; carnauba wax 3.75; triglycerides of caprylic/capric acid 76; brown iron oxide 8; yellow iron oxide 0.3; titanium oxide 0.7. The stick had a hold index of 72.5, covering power 98.7 and brilliance 7.20.</p> |
