CROSSLINKED METALLOCENE COMPOUND, OLEFIN POLYMERIZATION CATALYST AND METHOD OF POLYMERIZING OLEFIN

A crosslinked metallocene compound and a catalyst for olefin polymerization which contains the crosslinked metallocene compound. This catalyst is highly active in polymerizing at least one monomer selected among ethylene and alpha-olefins. The crosslinked metallocene compound has a specific substituted cyclopentadienyl group and a specific substituted fluorenyl group and has such a structure in which these groups have been crosslinked with a carbon or silicon atom. Also provided is a process for producing a polyolefin, characterized in that at least one member selected among ethylene and alpha-olefins is copolymerized in the presence of an olefin polymerization catalyst containing the crosslinked metallocene compound. Preferably, one or more such monomers including ethylene are copolymerized in the presence of the catalyst so as to yield an ethylene polymer having an ethylene unit content exceeding 50 mol%. ® KIPO & WIPO 2007
