PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To monitor failure for each of a plurality of cables connecting a power supply and a welding gun without depending on high voltage measurement. SOLUTION: In the method for monitoring failure of a plurality of cables connecting a power supply and a welding gun, a value of current of each cable is detected, and further, a value of voltage between two arbitrary points of each of the cables is detected ( a step 2), a resistance value between the arbitrary two points of each cable is calculated from the detected value of the current of each cable and the detected value of the voltage between the two arbitrary points of each of the cables (a step 4), and, the calculated resistance value between the arbitrary two points of each cable is compared with a reference resistance value of each cable previously stored, and, when the resistance value between the arbitrary two points of each cable is within a predetermined range with respect to the reference resistance value of each cable, the cable is judged to be normal, and, when the calculated resistance value is not within the predetermined range, the cable is judged to be abnormal.
