PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an armrest capable of making the handleability of the armrest usable in necessary compatible with the appearance and using feeling of the seat, and to provide a seat using the armrest. SOLUTION: At the center backrest part 14 of a vehicle bench seat 10, a housing recess part 16 is provided to house the armrest 17 in the housing recess part 16 so as to be drawn or housed. The armrest 17 consists of a base part 23 supported turnably relative to the side of a seat body, and an armrest part 24 supported to the base part 23 relatively movably along the longitudinal direction of the base part 23. The armrest part 24 laid over the center seat part 13 from the housing recess part 16 is resiliently held at a position separated from the upper surface of the center seat part 13 by a supporting structure composed of a support shaft of the base part 23, a stopper fixed to the support shaft, and a leaf spring which is provided inside the seat body and on which the stopper abuts.
