An auxiliary cooling disc (10) is located between the two main friction discs (2, 3) of the brake. The auxiliary disc is positioned in the vent channels (6), where it makes additional cooling area (10) available. It lies in the dividing plane between the vent channels. Near these channels (6) it includes openings; the friction discs (2, 3) are connected to each other through them. The auxiliary disc (10) includes projections near the vent channels, to generate turbulence. The turbulence-generating projections project out from the plane of the auxiliary disc. The auxiliary disc is a stamped sheet metal ring. It is cast into the brake disc body. The vent channels extend radially.
