To increase the long term strength of a crankshaft (1) pressure is applied at the transit radii between the crank cheeks (16) and the crankpin (18) with a simultaneous counter pressure, at least partially in sections. The pressures are applied by at least one roller (22) against a counter roller (24) while the crankshaft is rotated around its axis (12) by a maximum of 180[deg].
