The invention concerns a thermoplastic container (1) with a body (2) provided with at least one groove (6) closed on itself and extending perpendicularly to the axis of the body; said groove has a depth (p) ranging between 3 and 6 mm; in cross-section, it comprises: a rounded base (8) with small radius of curvature (R1) of 0.2 to 1.5 mm; two planar surfaces spaced apart on either side of the base (8) at an angle (a) of 50° to 90°; and two curvilinear surfaces (10) spaced apart from the respective planar surfaces at an angle (ß) less than 180° and linked thereto by a curve (11) of small radius of curvature (R2) not more than 1.5 mm and linked tangentially to the wall (12) of the body (2). Such a groove (S) is deformable with an axial pinching capacity in the presence of an axial force applied on the container.
