ORGANOSILICONE RESIN HAVING ALCOHOLIC HYDROXYL GROUPS AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCTION OF THE SAME

The invention aims at providing a stable organosilicone resin having alcoholic hydroxyl groups which does not change with the lapse of time and a process for the production of the resin which enables easy composition control. The organosilicone resin is one produced from an organosilicon compound represented by the general formula (1) or the like through hydrolysis and condensation: wherein R<SUP>1</SUP>, R<SUP>2</SUP>, R<SUP>4</SUP>, R<SUP>5</SUP> and R<SUP>6</SUP> are each independently alkyl of 1 to 10 carbon atoms, aralkyl of 7 to 10 carbon atoms, or aryl of 7 to 10 carbon atoms; R<SUP>3</SUP> is a divalent organic group having 2 to 20 carbon atoms; and a and b are integers satisfying the relationships: a > 0, b > 1, and a + b = 3, with the proviso that when two -OR<SUP>2</SUP> groups are present, they may be the same or different.
