PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera capable of photographing a dark object using flash light emitted by other camera, even with a camera having no flash unit, by performing a shutter operation by detecting the change point of the light. SOLUTION: The camera has: an imaging apparatus 101 which images the object; a sensor 100 which senses brightness of the object; a change point detecting device 104 which detects transient change points of brightness of the object on the basis of information indicating the degree of the brightness obtained from the sensor 100; a time adjusting device 105 which sets waiting time until the brightness of the object becomes maximum from the point of detecting the change points by the change point detecting device 104; and a timing generating device 102 which generates a signal for driving the imaging apparatus after the lapse of the waiting time.
