PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image scanner and an image forming apparatus capable of reducing the effect of crosstalk at image reading. SOLUTION: In the image scanner wherein image signals from a plurality of linear image sensors 21 columnarly arranged are respectively output to signal lines of a flexible flat cable 39, it is characterized in that the signal lines of the image signals from adjacent blocks are assigned not to be adjacent to each other in the flexible flat cable 39.
