PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flash discharge tube capable of realizing downsizing of a stroboscope device and stably obtaining high reflection efficiency of flash light. SOLUTION: The flash discharge tube 1 coated with a transparent conductive film on an outer periphery face of a glass bulb 2 with rare gas of a given pressure sealed inside and made up by sealing an anode electrode 3 and a cathode electrode 4 opposed to each other at either side of the glass bulb 2, a metal oxide film 5 with excellent integrity with a metal reflection film 6, good heat resistance and excellent adhesiveness with glass is coated on the outer periphery face of the glass bulb 2, in order to laminate the metal reflection film 6 on a rear-face side outer periphery face of the glass bulb 2.
