PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas discharge tube capable of increasing the amount of visible light from a visible light source passing a discharge path restriction part while maintaining the startability of discharge and preventing degradation of a service life of a positive electrode part, and to provide a light source device and liquid chromatograph. SOLUTION: By setting one diameter D1 shorter than the other diameter D2 between two orthogonal diameters D1, D2 in an opening part 12a formed in the positive electrode part 12, the other diameter D2 can be made larger than an old diameter, and the one diameter D1 can be as large as the old diameter. Thus, the amount of the visible light from the visible light source passing the opening part 12a of the positive electrode part 12 of the gas discharge tube is increased by setting the other diameter D2 larger than the old diameter, and the startability of discharge is maintained and the degradation of the service life of the positive electrode part 12 is prevented by setting the diameter D1 as large as the old diameter.
