PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber cable that makes a drawing force of the outer layer sheath adjustable, ensuring easiness of the removal and that also makes protrusion of the inner layer sheath suppressed. SOLUTION: The optical fiber cable is obtained by covering coated optical fibers with a jacket comprising an inner and an outer layer sheath 3, 4, wherein two or more winding tapes 5 are arranged between the inner and outer layer sheaths 3, 4, and wherein a friction coefficient with the winding tape 5b of the uppermost layer in contact with the outer layer sheath 3 is made larger than the friction coefficient with the winding tape 5a of the lowermost layer in contact with the inner layer sheath 3 and also made larger than the winding tapes 5 internally. In addition, on the internal face of the outer layer sheath 4, there is provided a metallic protective layer machined into accordion-folds. For the winding tape 5, one with different materials stuck together can be used such as the one with a plastic film and a nonwoven fabric of a plastic fiber adhered to each other.
