PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably hold a liquid crystal panel and attach it to a front panel with positioning without using a vacuum chucking means which leaves sucked marks on the liquid crystal panel surface in a manufacturing step of a liquid crystal display device using the liquid crystal panel with a bezelless structure in which no bezel, used in a conventional liquid crystal panel, is used. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal open panel 11 with the bezelless structure is placed and held on a pack tray 21 arranged on the lateral side of a production line. A holding means of the liquid crystal open panel 11 has freely telescoping arm shafts 24 on a head 22 which is transferred toward four axes (X, Y, Z,θ) directions with a conveying means, and has freely rotating engaging claws 25. The engaging claws nails 25 in vertical states are inserted into notches 12a formed on corner portions of the liquid crystal open panel 11, the engaging claws 25 are horizontally rotated and joined to notch edges, subsequently the head 22 is moved with the conveying means and is attached to the front panel 18 after positioning, and subsequently the engaging claws 25 are made to disjoin, the arm shafts 24 are elevated, and the engaging claws 25 are made to leave the notches 12a.
