PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive hypocycloid reduction gear by a simple composition which can effectively transmit a rotating force by gear meshing only. SOLUTION: An eccentric part 2a of an input shaft 2 and an output shaft 5 concentric with the input shaft 2 are provided with an internal gear 1 and an external gear 4 engaged with each other inside and outside. A ball 10 is interposed between a plurality of annular raceway grooves 11a, 11b formed opposed to ring-like plates 9a, 9b mounted on the side surface of the internal gear 1 and the side surface of a flange 6a in a housing 6 opposed to the side surface of the internal gear 1. The rotation motion of the internal gear 1 on the input shaft 2 side whirling in the external wheel 4 on the output shaft 5 side is stopped by rolling engagement between the raceway grooves 11a, 11b and ball 10. The orbital motion of the internal gear 1 is transmitted as the rotation motion of the external gear 4 on the output shaft 5 side. By this, a rotating force can be effectively transmitted by gear meshing only. The reduction gear achieves a simple composition and becomes inexpensive. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
