Class 142(iv) Pile yarn is wound on'channelled formers .and secured to a foundation by vulcanization under pressure, during which process, the rubber or other plastic substance forming the foundatibn is forced to flow through the channels in the formers. The pile may be looped or cut. Pile yarn B is wound on former A in spaced loops. A number of such formers carrying yarn are arranged side by side in a frame G, and the loops on one former lies between the loops on the adjacent formers. A pusher rod O moves the formers on to a foundation D carried by an endless belt J, and plate S prevents the formers from lifting. Vulplace between a steam heated platen L and a cold platen M. If a cut pile is produced, a mechanism P cuts the pile and removes the formers.</p> |
