A mobile communication terminal with improved earphone operation detection is provided to prevent that an earphone key is maintained in its pressed state when an ear-jack plug is poorly contacted, thereby reducing power consumption, and preventing re-origination connection caused by malfunction. A mobile communication terminal(100) comprises the followings: an ear-jack insertion unit(180) which includes a microphone terminal(181) for receiving a microphone signal, a speaker terminal(182) for outputting a speaker signal, and a detecting terminal(183) for detecting insertion of an ear-jack plug(210), and into which the ear-jack plug(210) is inserted; an insertion sensor(170) which senses the insertion of the ear-jack plug(210) from a signal inputted in the detecting terminal(183); a key press sensor(160) which compares a signal, inputted in the microphone terminal(181), with predetermined reference voltage and detects that the ear-jack is being inserted; and a controller(150) which attempts a call by combining result values outputted from the insertion sensor(170) and the key press sensor(160), or performs call connection when a call request is received. |
