The assortment has two different shopping trolleys (2), each comprising an undercarriage (3) and a basket (9) carried by the undercarriage. The trolleys are parked in rows, such that the baskets and the undercarriages are partially inserted into each other. A connection unit (18) is provided below the bottom of the basket and outside of lateral walls of the basket and has connection points. The trolleys are differentiated by the different width of the baskets or the undercarriages. The arrangement of the points corresponding to the basket or to the undercarriage is same for all trolleys. An independent claim is also included for shopping trolley for the formation of a shopping trolley assortment.
