PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording and reproducing device which can improve its operability by displaying the recorded programs in a calendar format based on the date they were recorded to make it easy to grasp the history of the recorded programs and performing the work so far made by users each time such as for displaying the list of the recorded programs or making timer recording or viewing programs. SOLUTION: The program names of the data streams (programs) recorded in the recording and reproducing device are displayed together with the record list of calendar format C10. When the cursor is operated by the user to select a date, the program information recorded on that date is displayed on the same screen as the record list L10 classified into programs.
