PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inner liner for a pneumatic tire which is excellent in oxygen barrier property and anti-bending property, and to provide the pneumatic tire of which the durability is increased by suppressing the deterioration of a tire internal frame rubber by oxygen permeating from occurring by using the inner liner, and in addition, can suppress the increase of the weight. SOLUTION: This inner liner for the pneumatic tire has a layer having at least one layer which contains a denatured ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (C), and an auxiliary layer (D) containing an elastomer and a sheet-like mineral. In this case, the denatured ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (C) is formed by making 1 to 50 pts.mass of an epoxy compound (B) react to 100 pts.mass of an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer (A) having 25 to 50 mol% of an ethylene unit.
