PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize not only a refreshing effect by the acceleration of perspiration but also the soothing of a blood pressure and the activation of mind and body functions which are considered as the effects of bedrock bathing. SOLUTION: The main component of a slate is radium ore. It is considered that the effect of bedrock bathing seen in Tamagawa hot spring or the like is that radon (Rn; atomic number 86) contained in steam rising from a hot spring enters the body from the respiratory system and acts to achieve the effect of soothing the mind and body and accelerate hormonal secretion rather than perspiration. The radium ore semiparmanently emits radon which is a kind of noble gases and creates an environment close to a natural hot spring.
