A shock absorbing assembly for a vehicle bumper is provided to protect components around and reduce a pedestrian's injury by transforming a back beam of a bump and absorbing the shock. A shock absorbing assembly for a vehicle bumper comprises a bumper back beam(10); a support member installed on the vehicle body to support both sides of the bumper back beam; and a notch mounted between support units at both sides of the bumper back beam. A reinforcing bead(60) reinforces the notch. The support member supports the bumper back beam rotatably for the vehicle body. The bumper back beam is formed like a curved shape. The support member comprises a bumper stay(30); and a bracket(20) and supports the bumper back beam by being installed at both sides of the bumper back beam.
