<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology without interfering with the miniaturization of the apparatus, whereby a switch unit disposed on the side of the apparatus and used to shut power supplied to a prescribed electronic component in the apparatus during maintenance is prevented from interfering with the operation of pulling out a prescribed unit from the side of the apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: the prescribed unit that can be pulled out from the side of the apparatus; the switch unit disposed on the side of the apparatus and used to shut out power supplied to the specific electronic component in the apparatus during maintenance; and a retracting mechanism with which the switch unit is retracted to the position where the switch unit does not interfere with the operation of pulling out the particular unit from the side of the apparatus. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
