<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite electrolyte membrane which has a superior durability by having a protective layer that is hard to be peeled off, which has a high water resistance performance, and in which a superior proton conductivity can be exerted even under a high temperature and low humidity atmosphere. <P>SOLUTION: In the composite electrolyte membrane that includes a porous base material having a plurality of through holes, and includes the electrolyte retained in the through holes, a protective layer is installed which is constituted of an acidic polymer on a first face of the porous base material and on a second face opposing to the first face, and at least on either one of the first and the second faces, at least a part of the protective membrane is made to be positioned inside of the through hole. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
