<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the longitudinal dimension of an engine compact and facilitate an assembling operation for a transmission while preventing contact noise between a chain and a crank part from occurring in the engine having the cassette type transmission. <P>SOLUTION: This engine comprises a crank chamber 10 and a transmission chamber 11 in a crankcase 1. A transmission assembly M supporting transmission shafts such as an input shaft 14 and an output shaft 15 on a shaft support member 13 is detachably stored in the transmission chamber 11. One of the transmission shafts such as the input shaft 14 is interlocked with an oil pump 50 installed in the transmission chamber 11 through a chain transmission mechanism. A restricting guide 200 restricting the run-out of a chain is disposed between the portion 27a of the chain 27 on the crank chamber side and the crank part 203 of the crankshaft 7. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
