PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mail server condition monitoring system and a method for monitoring a center side personal computer and a server condition for easily grasping a function condition of the mail server. SOLUTION: In this mail server condition monitoring system monitoring a condition of the mail server, the center side personal computer 11 and the center side mail server 12 are provided, and in receipt of a mail for a mail address not existing in a handled site, an error mail is automatically replied to a transmission source. The center side personal computer 11, which is provided with a mail transmission/receipt program 12 and a mail arrival monitoring program 13, transmits a mail for the mail address not existing in the site handled by the monitored mail server 2 to determine whether the monitored mail server 2 is in an abnormal condition or not according to presence/absence of receipt of the error mail to the transmission mail.
