PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a widening construction method capable of being constructed within a short time and obtaining a firm widening section. SOLUTION: In the widening construction method widening by piling up foaming resin blocks 2 on a widening site of the existing structure 1a, at least as the highest located foaming resin block 2, a foaming resin block 2A equipped with a dovetail groove 4 extended in the vertical direction on the side opposed to a side wall of the existing structure 1a is used, and a gap between the foaming resin block 2 and the side wall of the existing structure 1a is filled with cement mortar 9.
