PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive application device capable of highly accurately measuring the thickness of a film by restraining the effect of displacement of a measuring system or rotating roller. SOLUTION: The adhesive application device 40 includes a glue roller 8 whose peripheral face 8a is supplied with an adhesive AD, and a scraper 11 disposed so as to move towards the peripheral face 8a of the glue roller 8 and move apart therefrom and serving as a leveling means for leveling the adhesive AD according to an amount of gap from the peripheral face 8a. The adhesive application device 40 brings the peripheral face 8a of the glue roller 8 into contact with a pallet 7a in an applying position Pc downstream of the scraper 11 in the direction of rotation, thereby applying the adhesive AD on the peripheral face 8a to the pallet 7a. The adhesive application device 40 further includes an adhesive removal device 12 capable of removing the adhesive AD from a predetermined range 8b defined on the peripheral face 8a of the glue roller 8, and a non-contact type distance measuring device 13 whose measuring point Pm is located within the predetermined range 8b.
