PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing apparatus which can perform both-side printing wherein reduction in the printing quality due to irregularities of a perforated line or a fold line of a folded paper sheet is improved without reducing the printing processing speed. SOLUTION: The length of a transportation path of heat-sensitive paper between a pair of printing means provided for printing on both upper and lower surfaces is caused to be equal to or approximately equal to an integral multiple of the interval of the perforated line, so that the perforated line or the folded part passes the pair of printing means at the same time or approximately at the same time. Thus, the deterioration in the printing quality in which printed characters, images, etc., are expanded or contracted can be prevented. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
