PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for estimating validity of treatment with an anticancer agent, capable of estimating the validity of the treatment with a specified anticancer agent in a high probability, so that a patient takes decision to be treated with the anticancer agent without hesitation. SOLUTION: This method for estimating the validity of the treatment with the anticancer agent includes a comparing step in which at least one of parameter selected from a group consisting of an activity value of a cyclin-dependent kinase (CDK) in a tumor cell collected from the patient, an expression level thereof, and a ratio of the activity value to the expression level is compared with a threshold value corresponding to the selected parameter and an estimating step in which the validity of the treatment of the patient with the anticancer agent is estimated based on a result of the step for the comparing step. It is allowable that parameters related to two or more of the CDKs are compared with threshold values corresponding thereto, respectively, and then the estimation of the validity is conducted based on a combination of the compared results. Further, it is preferable that the threshold value is set up based on a result of the treatment with the anticancer agent, with respect to a parameter correlated with the result of the treatment with the anticancer agent in which a prescribed anticancer agent is administered to a prescribed cancer.
