Parallel reinforcing wires (14a) are embedded in a rubberized material (16a) layer. A separating medium attaches to the outer side of rubber composite material (RCM) cut up in strips (24) in a cutting device. The cut-up RCM feeds into a first separating device (36) with a cylinder casing body (CCB) (38), a sealable outlet (46) and a rotor (42) rotating in the CCB with impact elements (40). An independent claim is also included for a device for carrying out the method of the present invention.
