The TV transmission method involving compression and multiplexing uses a transmitter supplying audio signals that determine the selection of the video signals together with control data. At the receiving end, the equipment includes a receiving module for selecting a channel with different types of multiplexed video information together with the control data. A control unit includes a signal separator for selecting video information determined by the position of the control data within the channel, and a decoder for the control data. The decoding program is carried out and the decoded video information is indicated on the screen of the receiver.
