A structure that is formed by coating a coating film having excellent anti-corrosion and anti-scale characteristics on a substrate such as a metal material, and a method for fabricating a structure by coating a coating film having excellent anti-corrosion and anti-scale characteristics on a substrate such as a metal material are provided. A structure having excellent anti-corrosion and anti-scale characteristics comprises: a predetermined shaped substrate(10); and a coating film(20) formed on at least one surface of the substrate, wherein the coating film is made of a quasicrystalline alloy. The quasicrystalline alloy is an aluminum-based quasicrystalline alloy. The aluminum-based quasicrystalline alloy is an Al-Cu-Fe based alloy or Al-Cu-Fe-Si based alloy. The Al-Cu-Fe based alloy has a mass ratio of 50<=Al<=70, 10<=Cu<=30, and 10<=Fe<=20, and the Al-Cu-Fe-Si based alloy has a mass ratio of 50<=Al<=70, 10<=Cu<=30, 10<=Fe<=20, and 5<=Si<=15. The coating film is made of an aluminum-based quasicrystalline-like structure. The substrate is made of a material selected from the group consisting of a metal, a ceramic, and a composite material of the metal and the ceramic. The substrate is formed in a shape selected from the group consisting of a tubular shape, a bar shape, a cylinder shape, and a box shape with a predetermined empty space therein.
