PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lead-acid battery with a high output compared with a conventional lead-acid battery.

SOLUTION: A single-plate lead-acid battery Va of the present invention has a cathode-side capacitor layer 5a and an anode-side capacitor layer 5b respectively formed on surfaces of a cathode plate 1a and an anode plate 6a containing an active substance. In this single-plate lead-acid battery Va, electric charge is accumulated in the cathode capacitor layer 5a and the anode capacitor layer 5b. As a result, the single-plate lead-acid battery Va brings out an output higher than a conventional single-plate lead-acid battery.
