<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, wherein the construction is simplified and the thickness is reduced, and a recorded picture with stabilized contrast can be formed on the whole record region of a display recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 1 is equipped with: the display recording medium 2 on which an image is written with light irradiation; a liquid crystal panel 3 which receives light from the rear face and irradiates the display recording medium 2 with picture light 30; a backlight 5 to generate light 50; and a shaping optical member 4 which shapes the light 50 from the backlight 5 into parallel light 40 and irradiates the liquid crystal panel 3 with the parallel light. With this construction, single light source is used as the light source, and a distance between the liquid crystal panel 3 and the light source is shortened. Because the light from the light source is not made obliquely incident on the liquid crystal panel, light leakage is prevented, and lowering of contrast and gray-scale reversal are prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
