<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cap for reliably blocking a counterbore portion of a mounting hole provided in a guide rail of a linear guide while stabilizing cap attitude when inserted in the counterbore portion. <P>SOLUTION: The cap 5 comprises a columnar body 51 and a ring shaped peripheral edge member 52. The body 51 consists of a large diameter portion 51a and a small diameter portion 51b. A diameter B of the large diameter portion 51a is somewhat smaller than a diameter C of the counterbore portion 41 of the mounting hole. A diameter D of the small diameter portion 51b is smaller than a diameter B of the large diameter portion 51a and larger than a diameter E of a shaft storage portion 42 of the mounting hole. An outer diameter F of the peripheral edge member 52 is larger than a diameter C of the counterbore portion 41 of the mounting hole. The body 51 is made of metal and the peripheral edge member 52 is made of elastomer.
