PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact charge type electrophotographic photoreceptor which does not cause image defects such as deterioration of gradation due to white spots and missing dots and ensures a small image change even after repeated use, and excels in durability, and an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: A photosensitive layer of the electrophotographic photoreceptor includes at least one each of compounds represented by formulae (1) and (2), wherein Ar1and Ar2are each an aryl group; Ar3-Ar9are each an aryl group; Ar5and Ar10are each an arylene group; and n1and n2each show the number of aromatic rings and are each 1-10.
