PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover unit for a charge opening of a shredder which prevents paper, disk or the like from being crushed at the same time, thereby reducing the load on a motor. SOLUTION: The cover attached to the shredder which can crush paper and hard materials, separately installed with a paper charge opening 11 and a hard material charge opening 13 charging the above materials, is provided with a cover body 25 closing either one of the paper charge opening 11 or the hard material charge opening 13, a groove 27 by which the cover body 25 can move between the position closing the paper charge opening 11 and the position closing the hard material charge opening 13 and a protrusion 29 engaged thereto.
