PRODUCTION OF CONTINUOUS MINERAL FIBRE

The invention relates to chemical engineering used for producing inorganic materials, in particular for producing fibres from mineral rocks. The inventive method for producing a continuous mineral fibre, characterised by a low breakage rate thereof, i.e. less that one break per 10 kg of drawn fibre at a micron deviation of ? 1 mkm, consists in melting a rock material in a regenerating bath furnace provided with an U-shaped flame direction and in stabilising a temperature along the melt path. The permissible temperature variation range is maintained in the melt check points at least within ? 10 °C and a maximum temperature variation range along the surface area of a feeder orifice plate is maintained within ? 5 °C. The melt viscosity standardisation in orifices is guaranteed by the temperature distribution through the orifice plate according to a formula for defining a temperature at the n-th point thereof.
