A plasma display device and a driving method thereof are provided to suppress an afterimage by reliably removing wall charges from discharge cells during a reset period. A plasma display device includes a PDP(Plasma Display Panel,400), drivers(410,420,430), and a driving pulse controller(440). Scan electrodes and sustain electrodes are formed on the PDP. The drivers drive the sustain electrodes. During a reset period, the driving pulse controller applies a falling pulse, which falls from a first voltage level lower than the maximum voltage level of a set-up pulse, and then a set-down pulse, which falls from a second voltage level lower than the first voltage level, on the scan electrodes. While the falling pulse is applied on the scan electrode, the driving pulse controller applies a positive pulse on the sustain electrodes. The first voltage level is equal to a scan reference pulse, which is applied during a scan period. |
