发明名称 GLASS FOR SPACERS USED IN A FLAT PANEL DISPLAY AND SPACER USING IT
摘要 A spacer glass suitable for flat panel display, especially, field emission display(FED) is provided to satisfy requirements for the spacer including constant conductivity of film on the spacer, proper thermal expansion coefficient, high dimensional precision and mechanical strength by comprising SiO2, oxide of Mg, Ca, Sr or Ba, oxide of Li, Na or K, and Fe2O3 in desired percents by weight. The spacer glass comprises more than 25wt.% of SiO2 and less than 60wt.% of RO wherein R is Mg, Ca, Sr and/or Ba, has volume resistivity(log rho) of more than 10.0 ohms/cm at 350deg.C, alkali extraction amount of less than 1mg, thermal expansion coefficient of 50 to 95 x 10^(-7)/deg.C, liquid temperature of less than 1200deg.C and strain point of more than 550deg.C. The spacer is fabricated by the steps of drawing-molding spacer glass and cutting the drawing molded glass product. SiO2/RO ratio by mass ranges from 0.5 to 2.0. The glass contains 25-80wt.% of SiO2, 20-60wt.% of RO, 0-8wt.% of R'2O wherein R' is Li, Na and/or K, and 0-20wt.% of Fe2O3.
