<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a converter (a pickup) and the like which reduce costs for the evaluation test of radio equipment by using a low cost structure. <P>SOLUTION: The pickup 100 is provided with: a metallic plate 101 which short-circuits one end a waveguide 200; and a bar-like center conductor 103 coupled to a transmission signal transmitted in the waveguide 200, the center conductor 103 is arranged approximately in parallel with the transmitting direction of the transmission signal, and one end of the center conductor 103 is arranged so as to be exposed inside the waveguide 200 by predetermined distance. Here, it is preferable that the distance is equal to or less than a quarter of wavelength within a pipe of the waveguide 200 regarding the frequency of the transmission signal.
