<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating composition for optical use having a combination of high transparency, high refractive index and high hardness, and curable at relatively low temperatures. <P>SOLUTION: The coating composition for optical use consists mainly of a silsesquioxane derivative. By the way, the silsesquioxane derivative is obtained by hydrolyzing and condensing (A) a trialkoxysilane having reactive functional group in the presence of 50-200 pts.wt., based on 100 pts.wt. of the trialkoxysilane A, of (B) a bifunctional or multifunctional metal alkoxide having an organic ligand consisting of a β-diketone compound or β-ketoester compound, wherein the metal is at least one selected from zirconium, titanium and aluminum. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
