<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device which efficiently discovers a characteristic series pattern, and also provide a operating method of the device. <P>SOLUTION: Events are taken out from a series data storage part to generate candidate series patterns. Frequencies of series patterns are computed, wherein the frequency corresponds to the number of series data including the candidate series patterns among series data. Evaluation values of the candidate series are computed, from the computed frequencies of the series patterns and the frequencies of partial series patterns in already discovered characteristic series patterns, according to an evaluation equation which gives monotonously decreasing evaluation values to a series pattern including more events. Whether the evaluation values are over a threshold value is determined, and a candidate series pattern whose evaluation value exceeds the threshold value is made to be a characteristic series pattern. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
