PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tone wheel manufacturing method, which can prevent the entry of a material to be molded into the mating surface of a magnetic mold member and a nonmagnetic mold material, in a magnetic field molding process and efficiently manufacture a tone wheel having proper magnetic characteristics. SOLUTION: When a cavity 17a is filled with an elastic material r0 in the magnetic field molding process, on the inner surface of the cavity 17a of a split mold 13 on the side provide having burr groove 15d, a part of the nonmagnetic mold material 13b, constituting the split mold 13, is interposed between the magnetic mold member 13a and the elastic material r0, thereby allowing the elastic material r0 and the magnetic mold member 13a to be brought into direct contact with each other.
